Woman Robs Pharmacy For Drugs www.privateofficer.com

NEWARK N.J. Oct. 29, 2007 — A woman arrested in connection with the Thursday robbery of the CVS Pharmacy on West Main Street told investigators she was not working alone.
Melissa A. Pal, 27, last known address 135 S. 30th St., Apt. A, Newark, was charged with aggravated robbery, a first-degree felony.

She told police her boyfriend wrote the robbery note she handed to a pharmacist, who later chased her down and detained her until police arrived.Newark police Detective Steve Vanoy said the boyfriend has admitted to authoring the note and the matter has been forwarded to the Licking County Prosecutor’s Office.An employee, who was present during the incident but did not wish to be named, said a woman came into the store about 8 p.m. wearing a hooded sweatshirt that covered her face. She said the woman went to the pharmacy in the back of the store, displayed a knife and handed the pharmacist a note demanding a prescription drug.The pharmacist gave the woman what she asked for, 11 bottles of prescription pills, and she left, but the pharmacist later ran after and caught her.Acting Judge David Stansbury set Pal’s bond at $25,000 during her bond hearing Friday in Licking County Municipal Court.
