Police in North Carolina say a Tampa man didn't let a gunshot wound stop him from getting on a plane to Albany, New York on Saturday.
According to authorities, the man, who has not been identified, left Tampa aboard a U.S. Airways flight on Saturday evening. When he arrived in Charlotte for a layover, police say he told airport officials he had been shot in Tampa during a domestic dispute. But instead of going to the hospital, he went to the airport to catch his flight.
Police in Charlotte told the Charlotte Observer that despite the man wanting to continue on to his final destination of Albany, they decided that wasn't in the cards. Instead, he was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Airport screeners in Tampa never noticed the wound or blood when he went through the screening process.
Investigators say the man's injuries appeared to be minor, and he was seen smiling as he was wheeled into an ambulance on a stretcher.
