Charlotte N.C. Oct. 13, 2007

An Alcoholic Beverage Control agent was wounded and a suspect was killed in a nightclub shooting on Woodlawn Road just before midnight Friday, Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said.
CMPD spokesman Julie Hill said the agent, Bob Bates, was shot in the lower extremity at Sensations nightclub. A bouncer at the club was shot in the elbow. Hill said a few people fled the scene after the shooting, but she wasn't sure if they were suspects or just scared patrons.
Police did not immediately know the identity of the person killed.
“We haven’t determined who shot whom yet,” CMPD Capt. Denise Bridges said.
Medic reported transporting two people and one body from the club to Carolinas Medical Center.
Police searched for two other suspects early this morning. Dozens of police cars and firetrucks set up a perimeter, while a helicopter searched by air, around the club, located in a shopping center at Woodlawn and Interstate 77. Homicide detectives were also on the scene, several of whom were searching a gray, four-door sedan. The person who died was shot in the car's doorway.
No CMPD officers were involved, but a former vice and narcotic detective Terry Mack, who is now an ABC agent, was working with Bates.
